This is a fairly long post, so I've made bold all the important parts. If you're in a rush, read them and skip everything else. But please participate!

Very recently I came up with an idea to bring us all a bit closer on this board.

I want to start a place where we can all share our music, the songs that evoke the most emotion from us all.

You tell me the songs, I will find and download them and put them up in an FTP which all will have access to.

It works two ways: you get to listen to the favorite music of the people around here, the Babies, the Mods, anyone who participates, and get a better understanding of them as people through the music they handpicked to share.

Second, you may just be exposed to new music, new bands you like, etc.

So, to start it off, I want you people to post 1-5 songs (per category) that do any of the following:

1) The songs that make you the happiest

2) The songs that make you the most depressed

3) The songs that get you the most pumped

4) Songs by an obscure band that you just want to expose other people to

So, to recap:

-YOU tell ME the songs you want in your folder
-I'll find and download them, then make them available to everyone else.

This is all open to your suggestions. If you think it's a good idea, then please post your songs. If you think it's a bad idea, tell me what I can improve, if anything. If you want to add a category you think I'm missing (I just thinking the songs that evoke the most emotion are the best ones), then post it and we'll expand the FTP.

With any luck, it'll take off and we'll all be rocking out to each other's music, maybe get a night on Ronfez.net Radio.

Please don't move this to the music forum, btw, I want as many people to see this as possible without disturbing the flow of something like General Discussion.

As a music fanatic (I own over
500 CD's, let alone cassettes
and record albums), I LOVE
this idea. It will, however,
be very difficult to choose
only 5 songs per category,
though it is obviously
necessary to limit your
workload. Just expect this to
take some time, Pooter.

gvac, no problem, man. You don't have to limit it to 5, but 5 is the most I can find myself. I'll give you the ability to upload extra songs one I've got that done. I've just got a DSL, so I figure it'd be faster if I collected them on my own.

Mad Producer, thanks for jumping on board. The only thing I ask is that you group them into a category that I can put in your folder, ie "Happiest Songs", "Most Depressing Songs", etc.

Anyone, feel free to IM me at MulderManX on AIM and SlfCalledNowhere on Yahoo Messenger. My email is MulderManX@aol.com

Heckler,

I knew you were cool, but
this is ricidulous!
"Unchained" by Johnny Cash is
probably one of the greatest
albums ever made, and of
course no one paid it any
heed, because it couldn't be
categorized. "Spiritual" is
one of those songs that makes
the hairs on the back of my
neck stand up it's so powerful.

You rock!

Skullcrush, no, this is all about you guys, not one single person's taste in music.

You tell me what you want in your folder, I'll get it. All I ask is that you have a specific reason for sharing it, be it the songs that make you the happiest/saddest/most pumped, etc., love songs, anything.
