I just needed something to read tonight and it really took me back. Finding pages missing and cutouts to put on various folders that I had in High School and the "Metal Gods" that graced my walls at home.
I mean reading the Major Label Debut from PANTERA and NY Hardcore band Sick Of It All - Debut Album on In-Effect COMING SOON. Articles on Metallica when they were still small and the bad review that Vio-Lence - Oppressing The Masses got. The little write-up that Metal Maniacs had on Obituary and Deicide who were newcomers to the Florida Death Metal Scene (and what an INSANE Scene it was). The batchworthy pics of Lita Ford and Femme Fatale's Lorraine Lewis. The word "teutonic" describing ANY band from Germany.
I bet that many of you had some these at one time or another, then again, maybe not. Girls, who were the glam queens in METAL EDGE who you drooled over during lunch. I remember for some reason the bass players were always popular in my Class. The T-SHIRT ads with the miniscule black and white photos of the shirt you just HAD TO HAVE! I still remember the day walking home from school with my new copy of Metal Edge and reading about the death of Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone. That spawned what would soon be the birth of Pearl Jam and the whole mainstream grunge movement.
I know it hasn't been too incredibly long ago but some of my copies of RIP were from 1989. DAMN! 13 years! Share your Heavy Metal magazine memories here. Bear no shame.

Edit: F me and my AWFUL proofreading.
