Saw this flick tonight, it was more GOODER than I thought it would be.

When I got home, I rushed to my makeup caddy, applied red lipstick, dark eyeliner, put on a black nighty, and sang 'All That Jazz', while dancing (with what little choreography I could remember) my way to every mirror thoughout the house.

haha..

speaking of whipping out cocks and thighs.. the guy to the left of me.. (this place was packed.. he arrived late and had to separate from the girl he was with).. was like.. I dunno.. kinda rubbing his thigh or feeling himself up everytime a sexy scene was showing.

Happened a lot during the Zeta-Jones scenes, although, if you ask me, Rene Z. looked very sexy and absolutely shocked me throughout the flim... I must say I have newly found respect for her.

Anyway, back to the guy, he was a cutie... but that was just uncalled for.

P.S. Do you think I should check for stains on my jacket?

What a letdown of a film. I didn't even like "Moulin Rouge" all that much, and even that film managed to do the musical thing more gooder than "Chicago". The film gets way too caught up in the whole, "LOOK!!! Big stars singing and dancing! WHEEEE!!!" shitck for me to actually care about the plot and what's happening to all the characters.

Musicals, to me, are the epitome of lazy filmmaking. Don't want to put in some extra thought to your plot or meaningful character development? Just pack in a shitload of singing and dancing! HOORAY. Bah...

I thought it was good. I saw the show in London and my old high school did it for their spring musical so I was interested to see how it would turn out on film.

Renee Zellweger was a pleasant surprise as was Queen Latifah (which shouldn't have been that much of a surprise sine she's both a singer and an actress). Christine Baranski did a nice job as Mary Sunshine. The 'Cell Block Tango' is always enjoyable to see.

I also liked the fact that scenes could be done on location (jail scenes in a jail, courtroom scenes in a courtroom, etc.) which obviously can't be done on stage. Still, it's much more impressive to see it done live.
