If "bad" means "better than anything else the networks can queef out", preach on, brother man.
My only complaint about the last few seasons is that the show lost its "heart". It was always absurd, but there was an underlying current of emotions (ie-the Simpsons ultimately still loved each other, despite their faults) that's completely gone at this point. I think the last time I was able to care about one of the characters was the episode where Maude Flanders died. Love, LOVE the ending of that one. Since then, it's been all surreal abusrdist stuff...which is cool, but not as great as it was before. But still...any Simpsons are better than no Simpsons. It's just that good.
It's like people complaining about "The Sopranos"; you have a show that's so great, that when it becomes just "less than great", people say it "sucks" or is "awful" when it's still actually "buttfuckingly good" or "cooterrammingly above average" and, most importantly, so much better than anything else you'll see on TV.
But what the fuck is up with the syndicated episodes? In DC, they play the same 40 or so over and over again, and they're all from the last 3-4 years. Are the earlier ones locked up in future DVD deals? THEN HURRY THE FUCK UP. There's a giant, sex pile of classic episodes not being shown that I can't watch on DVD. Fuckers.
