NBA Centers

I can't say i'm a huge NBA fan, but I do follow it everyday on ESPN and watch a game or two a week. But I really haven't noticed how bad the center position has gotten...especially if you list Tim Duncan as a Power Foward. what made me think about it was a poll on ESPN today. the question was whose the best NBA center besides Shaq right now and here are the results so far after about 10,000 votes:

64.0% Yao Ming
22.3% Vlade Divac
4.4% Michael Olowokandi
4.4% Zydrunas Ilgauskas
3.7% Brad Miller
1.2% Elden Campbell

no disrepect to Ming, but i can't believe he's seen as the second best center right now. he only averages 12 pts and 9 rebounds a game. no wonder why Shaq dominates the league. he averages more than double the points and about 4 rebounds more than Ming. this is just a sad listing of players. just had to get this off my chest.

in nba history they've gone from centers ruling the league to a more athletic league where speed and finesse were stressed. now shaq is dominating the league becausehes just playing power basketball. hes not the best man in the NBA just the most dominant.

now what did you guys pick as the allstar centers this season? for the east i choose igaulskas and west o'neal..since duncan is not listed as a center.
