Please somebody help me! I had to restart my computer due to some bug and this contraption is in "safe mode". Now the icons/pictures are enormous. What the heck is going on? How do I resolve this problem? Thanks.

If that (very hopeful) method doesnt work. Restart the computer, hit F8 every second or so from the moment the bios screen comes on until a "hidden" menu comes on, and then select "Boot Normally" and that should be it.
Peace & Hugs.

After restarting my computer I pushed F8 and then selected Normal. Unfortunately nothing has changed. Is there something else I should do? Thanks for all your help.

Sounds to me that your video driver reset themselves. Right click on your desktop, then goto properties, then setting and change your resolution. If that doesnt work, u may have problems with your drivers themselves.
Please excuse the name...My Brooklynlivecam username seems to have been killed

You booted fully to Safe Mode? Then did a full cold boot where you did a Start/Shut Down/Shut Down.
What were you doing before this happened?

Changing the pixel resoluation appears to have returned my copmuter to normal. It seems as though the graphics are somewhat sub par. I don't understand what happened. I was playing RailRoad Tycoon 2 and then my computer just crashed. This happens quite frequently to my computer. I don't kjnow what is wrong with my dell... I've only had it for 3 years or so.

I'm not comp guy, but I always do a Scan Disk, Defragmentation and Antivirus scan everytime my comp starts to act gay.
Try doing that so see if you can find problems. I'm not sure if it will help this problem, but you'll see if you have bad sectors on your hard drive or a virus.

Sounds like you need more RAM, or for a quick fix, you could increase your paging file size if it's crashing while you're running a lot of programs.
Go to Control Panel System Advanced Performance Settings Advanced Change Custom Size... and see what your settings are. It should be at least 1.5 times your memory. (If you have 128 MB, then it should be at least 192, etc.), but you can increase the size of this file to add more virtual memory. (I think 1400 MB is the max). Set the min and max the same to keep this file from getting fragmented.
I'm no expert by any means, I learned this tip the hard way when my own started acting up, and I had 256 MB and it was still acting gay when I was running a pantload of programs at once.
Hope this helps.
