Christopher Reeve On Smallville

After months of negotiations, Christopher Reeve, who soared to stardom as Superman in the movies, will guest-star on a February episode of Smallville.
Reeve will play Dr.Swann, a brilliant scientist who provides Clark Kent (Tom Welling) with revelatory insight into his super-hero destiny.
"We'll be passing the torch from one generation's Superman to another," says Alfred Gough, executive produced of Smallville.
The Vancouver-based production will shoot in New York City to accommodate Reeve, who was paralyzed from the neck down in 1995. A lure for Reeve to return to the Superman franchise was the willingness of WB to run a public-service announcement at the end of the episode for the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation.
Says Gough: "Chris is a Smallville fan. He's told friends [Welling] reminds him of a young Chris Reeve."

Maybe the only thing that could redeem that show is if they lined up the entire cast, made them all lie down next to each other shoulder-to-shoulder, and Christopher Reeve ran his wheelchair over everyone's neck! God, I hate that show!

I thought Chris Reeve gave a pretty good preformance as Dr.Swann and an nice touch was the Superman theme music that played in the background

Yeah, hearing a few music cues from the John Williams soundtrack was pretty damn cool. It really helped to tie all the franchises in.

Having Chris Reeve on there was a cool idea. Kinda like when the original Lois Lane made that cameo in SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE. It really ties it all together.


The Paralysis Fund PSA at the end of the show (complete with wacky bloopers!!) was a bit hokey though.

I think it was kinda perfect timing to bring in Reeves and let Clarke know where he is from. As few people have already said it was getting frustarating. now when does he learned to fly?
