Am I too old or is TV getting stupider?

Back in the day I loved watching stupid shows that my parents and other people thought were stupid. When Fox started it was constantly tuned in on my TV. Now I watch and it's full of the most insane shows ever. The reality shows and now the midgets racing an elephant!

I trace my fuddy duddiness to the premier of Jackass (god that is so stupid) Do people really WANT to see these shows? Do they plan their day to see them? The world is definitely coming to an end.

I actually relate more with my parents now on this kind of stuff than with younger siblings and cousins. I'm very sad, so very sad.

And in answer to your question, bam, I think it's a nice even mix of getting old and a decline in quality programming. I blame the 80's and the advent of the FOX network, myself. <P>

There is still quality programming on out there somewhere... just haven't seem much of it lately. Most of it is crap. You would think the companies would realize this when seeing a "new hit show" goes down the toilet after only a few weeks on air.
