View Full Version : Ron Says #3 Band out of England
The Chairman
01-13-2003, 04:08 PM
Ron just referred to The Who as "probably the #3 band out of England."
Hmmmmmm. I assume that Rolling Stones and Led Zep are #1 and #2. Right?
And where do the Beatles fit in?
I say The Who barely makes #4.

Blue Cheer
I thought they were from San Francisco.
Usually these "rankings" have The Beatles and Stones in the 1-2 spot respectively. #3 is usually The Who simply because they predated Zeppelin. I think it's a matter of personal taste. There are some times when I like one band more than the other.
I'd add Sabbath and Deep Purple to the list of "Best British Bands" for their influence on metal. You'd have to include Cream, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, Radiohead, Sex Pistols, and Clash (in no particular order of course) for their influence on musical genres.

The Beatles and Stones have to be 1 & 2. After that in no particular order would be Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Who, The Kinks, Black Sabbath & Judas Priest.
I'm so broke I can't afford to pay attention.
