vince carter is so overrated...yeah he'll make the highlight reel with a dunk or two but the truth of the matter is if the game were on the line i wouldn't want him to have the ball in his hands

this problem happens almost every year in basketball and baseball. didn't Grant Hill and Mourning make the teams last year or the year before and neither played a game. and Cal Ripken made the All Star team many years after he lost most of his skills.

what do you expect when the voting is done by fans. it is not a reflection of skills but of popularity. And Carter is an amazing player who gets little publicity cause he plays for toronto.

This is true. This has happened alot over the last couple of years. Just as how Grant Hill kept getting added to the team by the fans even though he hasn't played even half of a full season in about 5 years. It really sucks because you have people that should make the team because of their skill and numbers, but Vince will get in because people like him. I don't know why. I mean he was special his first 2 years but then he won the slam dunk competition and then refused to defend the next year. All of a sudden he is better than everyone.

They should just take away the voting power of the people and give it to the coaches and players eventhough the All-Star Games (MLB, NBA, etc.) are for the most part for the fans.
