MAN it took me back! I always remember Bill Murray mixing drinks with it in Scrooged.

I was up in a Weis near Layfayette. It was off Rt 15 on Rt 206 WAY North and West of the city.

If I wasn't so Mother Humping Broke, I'd have bought the 6 pack! They didn't have a 2 liter or loosed cans available for purchase.

DAMN! Anyone a fan of this cola? What did it taste like? The can reminded me of Dr. Pepper but it's a Coke product.

Tab was the first "diet" version of coke, sweetened with saccharin. I had an english teacher in HS who sweetened her coffee with saccharin tablets and I got in the habit of snagging a couple before class every day and after a while, started getting addicted to the taste. (more specifically, the AFTERtaste. It would even leave a lingering sweet taste on the ends of my pens or anything else I put in my mouth)

My mom and sis drank TAB and in a pinch, it was tollerable.

It pretty much disappeared after they came out with Diet Coke, sweetened with nutrasweet. Other than that, they were basically the same thing.

Damnit! You beat me to it!

ME ME ME ME! I LOVE THIS STUFF! The first diet cola ever. I still get it regularly and even when I was a Department Manager at Wal-Mart I was able to set up a whole front end cap of TAB 6 packs! I am one sick f! Check out this website and you will see that here was not one, not two but a DOZEN different TAB flavours!

Actually I was going to make mention of this. I could have sworn I saw cans of Tab in Stew Leonard's in Yonkers last week.

yeah they still got it down here in a supermarket right by my house..the one i work in we still have the 20 oz. six pack bottles..

I guess everyone got scared over the whole "saccharin causes cancer" thing, but they were giving those lab rats the equivalent of something like drinking a million Tabs a day..

They still sell it out here in the Midwest. I used to drink it all the time when I was a kid, because my mom didn't want me drinking sugary stuff.

It's kind of bitter, but when you're used to drinking diet &/or sugar-free stuff, it's not too bad.

I thought that stuff was long gone. It had to be just about the worst soda out there. I remember drinking it when there was nothing else, and was only able to take a few sips before I felt sick. Sure they aint selling old soda.

I liked TAB, but the taste of nutrasweet is far better than the taste (and aftertaste) of sacharrine.

I'm curious if you checked the "sell by" date on the soda. I wonder if it expired around 1970?

Actually, I thought the same thing when I saw it again for the first time about a year ago. Lo and behold, the expiration date was current (I think it was set to expire last May), so either it's still produced in somewhat limited quantities, or it's got a hell of a shelf life. :)

It's still manufactured. I worked with a temp who'd go through a six pack a day.

after a caps game a few years back, they were handing out free tab to the exiting fans.....GREAT STUFF!

Irish KB went behind enemy lines, and with the possibility of being mocked by other jets fans for fraternizing with a phins fan, made this masterpiece.

If they're going to bring back Tab, then they gotta bring back Wink.
