I miss peeling the Foam Wrap off of glass Pepsi Bottles.

After viewing the Suicidal Tendencies video for Institutionalized tonight, I noticed the GLASS Pepsi bottle and the foam wrap and MISS unwrapping it in a spiral. Anyone else or am I really digging for memories?

I'd completely forgotten about them. It was a given that you'd start peeling away the styrofoam label with the glass bottle in front of you.

When you were finished, the bottle when right in the trash, too. None of this recycling stuff back in the good old days!

I remember that Environmentally Friendly stuff.

I think I just had a glass Ginger Ale bottle wrapped with it like less than a year ago.

So either they still make them or my grandma fed me poision again.

What about that plastic wrap that used to be on the bottoms of all the 2-Liter bottles?

They made great flower pots. I planted marijuana seeds in them in college.

the 64 ox were glass with foam but the original 2 litres had the seperate black plastic base that had holes on the bottom and seriously was a great planter.

...and the fact that the Pepsi "Free" sodas and my personal favorite TAB stopped coming in bottles. I can only find TAB in a 6-pack anymore.

Back in the 70's there were rumors in the ghettos that certain brands of soda had a chemical that sterilized blacks. I had a friend who refused to drink "Good-O" Soda because he wanted kids.

Also to go hand in hand with the glass bottles would be the hard plastic mammoth that would hold all the bottles together in a 6-pack. Those thing would dig into your fingers and cut them when you would hold it. OUCH!
