I know most of us are on a day time schedule.

But there are A LOT of us up late too! Maybe you're sick and can't sleep. Maybe you have a night job and just got in or are about to go out to work. Maybe you've been planning your revenge for years in your basement. Hey, we all have our reasons for being up.

But at like 4 am, LOTS of channels turn on the Infomercials! BULLSHIT!!

And there's NEVER anything but reruns on then too. Right now I'm watching some rerun of SNL I've seen about 10 times already.

So I ask: WHO will tap into this uncharted market? Who will be the first to premeir shows at 3 AM? It's gotta happen eventually.

Night Owls STAND UP and be counted!

i've been staying up till 9 am the past few days, and the programing was horrible. watching reruns of old mtv spring break shows is enough to bring anyone to tears. the only good that came out of my late night viewing was that i saw the breakfast club for the first time.

Moe this thread is incredible.
It's like someone went right
inside my head and put my
thoughts out on this board. I
get so bored every night with
TV because there is never
anything good on past like
1am. Something need to be done
soon.

Ok, since 2 of you mentioned Cinemax and HBO channels, let me rephrase this: What does a poor Mofo with Basic Cable watch past like 3 AM?

And just to mention, if WNEW had an overnight show on, I'd probably give that a try. Leaving a Mic on in the Coma ward has GOT to be more entertaining then Lovelines and Leykis until like 5 AM.

And their sports show isn't that hot either.

I FORGOT about his show!

Art Bell is GONE? WEAK!

But I kinda like having the TV on at night for some reason I can't describe.

How I miss the days of college where I'd indulge in Hawaii Five-O reruns and Tom Vu infomercials in the early morning hours.

i dont even have cable... it's even worse to be me. luckily (i think?), my late nights are generally spent online these days, instead of in front of the tv.

my mom's an insomniac, and she will very often not sleep at all, or not until like 6 in the morning... she talks often about the lack of decent programming once the late shows go off

your best bet is probably videos/dvds

Since I am quite the sitcom buff, I find myself watching Tv Land and/or Nick at Nite. Nick at Nite goes south at 2 with All In The Family but then comes back with Three's Company and Family Ties even. TV land though has Dick van Dyke, Bob Newhart and Barney Miller which all get me through until 3:30. After 4, I agree there is not much. I would say, tape stuff that is on earlier at night in PRime Time or aquire some old tapes of tv shows or movies. I look forward to the day when cable will be on the "watch whenever you feel like it" basis, kind of like Tivo but better.
I remember back in the day when after Headbangers Ball at 3 there would be some old school smut on the Philly movie channel, PRISM. Many a night was spent up until 5 or 6. I also remember the week there was a bad lightning storm and we wound up getting free PLAYBOY Channel for two months. What a great summer that was.

I got Newsradio on at 12:30am in Boston. Then after that I think Coach, Cheers, Boy Meets World, Lizzie McGuire, Howard Stern are all on cable sometime after 1am.

well i usually watch "just shoot me" and "spin city" till 1am. then, its comedy central with "the daily show", "SNL", "the critic", and then "sports night" till 4, then i turn on the "dubbya bee" for an hour of "street smarts". and finally i ride out my morning till i drift asleep with the 5am news on channel 7abc.

The demographic group that views in the hours stated is as appealing to advertisers as a chocolate covered lugnut. The time is an impossible sell for the networks and cable. Solution: Digital cable.

mtv had some superisingly good shows on last night. the social history of the mosh pit and headbangers ball uncensored. perhaps there is just a sliver of hope left for mtv.
