i looked around the board and all the new years posts were all about how everyone was staying home for new years or they had no plans or whatever the case may be, i didnt want to rub it in and thats why im starting this thread.
this year has been a shitty one for me but this new years eve was the best time ive had on this shitty holiday, ever. id like to thank everyone who i was partying with tonight for such a great time.
there was drinking, trivial pursuit, more drinking, food, drinking, phone calls, drinking...and did i mention drinking? Team US (we suck) almost won, we had ONE more piece of the pie left and everyone wanted to quit the game. dont ever question my knowledge on soccer. i usually hate that game but i got competative. i usually hate NYE but it turned out to be a good night. Cheers.
Sm‚agol thanks everyone for a good time.
So how was your NYE?
PS- When in doubt, Manchester United.

My sweetie and I eloped 14 years ago this New years Eve, so it's always extra special for me. We celebrate at home with lots of King crab legs, lobster tails, shrimp and asti. Hope everyone else had a safe and happy New Year's Eve!!

I think the first three sentances are simply concrete proof as to why the fourth sentence is quite simply the most ironic thing ever uttered in the history of civilized man.

Contrary to popular belief, adding drinking to Trivial Pursuit, does NOT shorten the game.....
And I'm not sure the host can adapt the rules every 10 minutes either......
The food was good though, as was the couch afterward.

I'm glad that you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve and wish you all the best in this year. . . especially if your 2002 sucked. . . like mine did, until November. :)

Every year I go out with some friends for college, and the number has been dwindling lately. This year, it was only one other person besides myself that hit our usual starting bar/restaurant. I started off with a nice Angus Sirloin and smashed taters for dinner. We drank until about an hour after the ball dropped, then he bailed, something about work.
I left the first place when the state police showed up to break up a fight (I would've put my money on the bouncer), and hit 2 other bars, the last of which, another friend of mine was playing (in a band). I hung out with him and his wife for a couple of hours, then headed home.
Not the best of all time, but pretty cool, nonetheless.
