Why is CHRISTMAS the only time we hand lights up?

I was thinking about the people that make strings of Christmas lights the other day. They have this ONE TIME OF YEAR, and then they've pretty much shot their load. The rest of the year must be pretty slow.

But there are SO MANY OTHER HOLIDAYS they're NOT taking advantage of!

How about red, white and blue lights for the 4TH OF JULY! So patriotic and cool!

Or how about Orange and Black bulbs for Halloween? Now I know I've seen light for Halloweed before, but they were like pumpkin lights or something gay like that.

Let's see some green light for St. Patrick's day!

Pink lights for Valentine's Day!

How about some brown, orange, auburn and other earth tones for Thanksgiving?!

Yellow lights for Chinese New Year.......OK. That was the one that pushed me over the line.

But seriously, wouldn't you buy lights for different holiday? I WOULD!!!!!!

I think more and more there will be more lights and more holidays getting whored out for decorations. Halloween, yes, there have been quite a few houses I have seen popping up here and thereI think I even did see some for Valentine's last year but I am not sure. I used to have lights up year round because I was just a big big fan of them. Back in the day they were great as 'trip toys" and the hallucinations were classic. No comment on the Chinese lights, its early and I don't want to put a negative slant on things.

People around here already do this for just about every holiday and it still shocks me. Like I don't even know where they get this stuff, someone has to be making them.
I've seen decorations with matching lights for all of those hoildays mentioned, except for the Chinese New Year(wouldn't fireworks be better)but Im sure someone will make something for it.
