OK, there MUST be a word for something I just did.

A post I started was in danger of going off the first page. So I added to my last post, which made it go back to the top of the first page. I think this is probably a no-no.

Is there a word for that?

Tricia nailed it. We call it "Topping a thread."

If it's something relevant or topical and you'd like to bring back an old thread, it's customary to simply post "top", thereby bringing it back to the forefront.
