R.I.P. Herb Ritts

Herb Ritts, one of the best celebrity photographers, known for his sexy shots as well as quiet moments of famous people, died on 12/26...

It's a sad day, I was a big fan of his work...

He died of Pnuemonia(sp?)

Herb Ritts was a great influence on many photographers working today and will be sorely missed.

His photographs that were on the covers of many of the Rolling Stone magazines from the 80's are just a few examples of his work.

He was a great photographer. Pneumonia? He lucked out by surviving the first AIDS wave. perhaps the last T-cells pooped out. No matter, he was a master and I'm not homophobic.

I like Richard Avedon and Annie Leibowitz. Is Avedon still alive?

he was a genious as an artist!

I can't believe that he's gone. I always referred to people as "Herb Ritts" when they would take artsy photographs. He really saw everything as beautiful...which it is. I am a huge fan...

Now I need to find someone else to do my wedding pictures :-(

And he did that black and white (duh) photo with all those coked out Supermodels ...Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, etc. which TOTALLY objectified women by showing them all naked...

But my pictures are taken with a Haselblad, in black and white, of course...

I made my comment because I felt like you made it seem like ALL supermodels were (or are) cokeheads and nude pictures make women seem skanky or how you would say "objectified"...
