I absolutly loved it last year when the Phillies and a few other teams brought back their old powder blue jerseys. I was hoping to find themin stores but no luck. I will get to this in a bit. I miss to old horrendous colors some of the teams would wear. Who can forget the AWFUL White Sox jerseys of the 70's. The time they wore shorts with the awful jerseys even. The Astros rainbow home jersey that just screamed, well just screamed. The color scheme of the old Padres jerseys with the brown and yellow and orange trim. I have been looking for some of these to buy for the longest time and hoped they would come back in style. Not to the point where a simple baseball jersey which runs about $50 - $80 would cost $150!!! I mean that is considerably cheaper than at Mitchell & ness in Philly where I saw them a year ago for $250 but come on. Just because they are being worn by some second rate rappers they are now back in style and retailers can ask for $150 for them. What the F is that about? You would think the fact that they are back in style at least they would be affordable. The hockey throwback jerseys are reasonable for $75 but what makes the baseball ones such a big deal now? If the fad dies off the jerseys will cease being produced and I will never get minbe. I just can't see blowing that much on a jersey.

I remember the ugly yellow and green oakland A's uniforms of the 80s. Also the blue jays wore those light blue away jerseys, The yankees were one of very few teams that never wore the V neck pullover jerseys

Agreed. My favorite retros are the Padres and Astros of the 1970's.

And the 1970's White Sox, I still have a Topps baseball card with one of your Phillies friends, Greg Luzinski, in one of those...

I remember the tri colored red white and blue caps of the expos. all those things needed was a propeller on them. Runner up for ugliest jerseys were the bright orange ones worn by the orioles and SF Giants

I'm partial to the memory of Kent Tekulve wearing the Pirates flat top cap.

I always enjoyed the orange jerseys and always liked the Expos too.

Kent Tekulve had one of the best sidearms in baseball for years. He would practically drag his knuckles across the ground when he pitched.

As a Cincinnati Reds fan, I've been praying for years that they'd return to the old "Big Red Machine" uniforms of the '70's.

And you're 100% right, Fluff - the prices for these retro jerseys is nothing short of criminal. I haven't been able to find any of them for under $220.

Hopefully some third world country with sweatshops and no child labor laws will fill a much needed void.

those chicago white sox uniforms of the late seventies and early 80s were awful. one year they wore shorts with a leisure suit style collared pullover jersey. one year they wore their jerseys pajama style.

I think it was 1983 when they switched over to the uniforms which simply read SOX across the chest and the uniform numbers were on their pants

White for home, grey for visitors, period. Those colored uniforms look soooo minor league. <P>

The Padres uniforms from the 70 made them look like rotten bananas. Remember the Pittsburgh Pirates flat top hats from the late 70s early 80s.
