View Full Version : Santana
Is it me or he the washed up musician, who keeps trying to swim back to shore, but cant because the rip tide pulls him back in?
What Im trying to say is, does everyone seem to make it a point to do some type of song with him these days?.
First it was Rob Thomas I think his name was, then it was some raper, now its Chad from Nickleback. Maybe these artists are thinking thyey love Santana so much that if they do a song with him , Santana will suddenly be liked, and be infulenced to do another album?

The last time he had his sucess with all of the guest singers, he won a shit load of grammys(who cares). He was so full of himself that he released another album with him singing, it didn't even go gold. I don't think I know anyone who knew he did this album, much less buy. After that he sold out and tried to recapture the success of the sucessful album, and we have his new cd. It sucks and he has no dignity.
He is a great guitarist but anyone who will give up their artistic direction to sell a few more records doesn't deserve anymore respect than fred durst.

All his friggin songs sound the same. I hate note heavy guitar solos. What seperates Santana from say a Jimmy Page is every note Page played had meaning and substance. Santana is a fucking show-off.
And that all in the name of love song is perhaps the most obnoxious song I've ever heard since Matchbox 20 tried to recapture the magic and album sales of "Smooth" with "I've Got a Disease". Same fucking song, rearranged...

I totally agree. Santana's a great guitarist, but he just lucked out with that one album. Staying power requires that you can stand alone.
I think it's all the drugs that Santana does. He needs to turn SxE.

thanks ADF for the SigPic!!
slanted and enchanted...
I like the Santana of old. To be fair, he's always used different lineups and collaborated with different musicians. Now he's found a way to make money by working with big names.
