In a word - Fuck. Another hero dead. I'm sure the old farts like myself know how great this guy was (& Mojo, of course, with his savant knowledge of early alt.music); for you kids, only thing I can articulate at the moment is that this guy was the real thing. I'll try to think of something better to honor this man's significance over the course of the evening. See ya.

This really is a shame. Another great has passed. First Jam Master Jay, a pioneer in rap, and now Joe Strummer, a pioneer in punk. The musical world has suffered a great tragedy. And if there is anybody who doesn't know who Joe Strummer or The Clash was, just go buy "London Calling". Don't think about it, just buy it.

The Big Ass Club: These people looked deep within my soul and assigned me a number based on the order in which I joined.

Johnny Thunders, Joey Ramone and now Joe Strummer. Punk is offically dead. Another legend is gone.

I would have loved to see if they would have played together at the Hall of Fame this year. Now it is going to suck. Hopefully the rest band will play together and they won't have some band come in and play their stuff.

Thank you Ron and Fez for finally being live in DC again.
Philly is the next market for the boys. Wake up WYSP...

i've been away, and apparently i missed this. my god... this is one of the saddest days in music that i can remember. and it seems even sadder somehow that he died of a heart attack, and not an OD, or some other cliche punk rock way to go out. i'm going to go listen to the boxed set now and cry

did anyone see the clash special that mtv2 played the other night, it was awesome. it had the bands history in the bands own words.
