View Full Version : Would You Buy a Fur?
I have to admit, they are beautiful. I don't have one, but I wonder if others think it is right or wrong to buy one.

Well you know, Man has killed animals for YEARS. No one feels guilty using a baseball mit or eating at KFC, but suddenly we're appauled at Fur? Why? Do you think that animals we eat or use more commercially are killed in a NICE way?
But at the same time, you can get Fake fur that looks just as good as the real stuff, so id there really a need for the actual fur anymore? I don't think so, but I won't spray paint the coats of people who do.
Good topic Coco. Especially around the Holidays.

Of course I'd buy a fur. It's an animal, not a sentient creature. They are not pets. We have no attachment to them.
Use them for food, fur, medical research, anything whatsoever that will benefit a human being in any conceivable way.

I saw a guy walking around in a fur on Saturday. It looked odd and I asked myself the same question. Personally, I wouldn't buy one only because I know that *usually* the rest of the fur animal meets no good use unlike the nice leathery cow. More of a cow is used when it is killed from skin to bone to offals. Plus, we're just not fur people tho my parents were. There are far too many man-made fibers that are better at insulating than fur.

Well Moe, I think the reason the animal rights people have such a problem with fur is because it usually bears a close resemblance to the living animal (Ghostbusters 2 flashback). I have no problem with fur myself, but that is their view.

Ok, so because they leave the head and tail on it sometimes, that's the problem? If they just used the fur in a coat, it's OK?
I'm not arguing, I'm just trying to understand what you said.

I'd totally buy fur. Remember, as Dennis Miller said, ''Yeah, the mink's a pal. You know that if the roles were reversed, this guy'd be wearing YOUR pelt.''
