i've been watching this recently and am wondering how many of you out there were privy to one of the greatest shows of all time.

i didn't catch on big while it was on t.v., but now that i'm older i realize what an incredible f'n show this was. it's so much better than the stuff on now it hurts.

anyone else love to watch agent cooper have some damn fine pie in the town of twin peaks?

Fatty, this was one of MY shows. No one else i knew dug it like me. I was considered a weirdo for watching it, but i couldnt get enough. I still feel myself trying to behave like agent cooper at work sometimes. Weird folk, hot chicks (the cherry knot trick), murder mystery, paranormal, and David Duchovny in a dress...doesnt get much better than that. Is bravo replaying it? when? I could definately get into a marathon.

My favorite show, ever, period. unfortunately my dipshit cable company didn't carry Bravo when they were running the reruns, so I haven't really seen the second season since it originally aired.

Dancing midgets, psychotic apparitions and one armed hunters, cryptic giants, the owls, Leland's over the top actions, all out insanity, it was great! and don't forget, Damn good coffee, and HOT!

waiting for season 2 (part 1?) on DVD

yeah, i got everything (pilot, series, fire walk with me) on vhs, i have firewalk with me and the 1st season on dvd. i think you can get the pilot on ebay or something on dvd but they will probably make a better copy of it anyway so you should most likely wait.

but yeah david lynch is the man, no show even comes close. and the music by (angolini?) is the greatest, the theme gives me chills every time.

I think the pilot has a ton of copyright issues as to who actually owns the rights to it, which is why It wasn't part of the season 1 set. I did get a copy on dvd from Amazon, and fortunately I got the right one, becasue I understand there's a version out there that actually half asses a resolution to Laura's death at the end of it, which, from what I've heard, is just awkward and bad...

It's raining here in Hilton Head (sad) so I decided to re-watch season two. I guess I was always in such a hurry to get to the culmination of the "who killed Laura" plot arch that I never realized how amazing the ending of episode 15 (the death of Maddy) was.

The simultaneous murder/gathering at the Roadhouse left me breathless. I was really struck with the look on Bobby's face as he was sitting at the bar. It's the only time that we really see the intuition that Bobby surely has (being his father's son after all).

God I love this show...

Love you hear any thoughts about this scene or really anything about the show. I am surprised that there isn't more like it on this board. (Maybe there is another tread that I missed).

My buddy and I watched the whole thing on VHS in less than a week. I fucking love this show. I've picked up the DVDs since then and can't get enough of it even though it ended with a cliffhanger and was canceled before they could wrap things up.

My friend's and I did the same thing in college with the entire VHS set. We just had a lost weekend holed up in an apartment with a bag of grass and watched the whole thing pilot to end.

I danced a little jig when I found out they were finally releasing season two.

If you have DirectTV, they're showing reruns on the Chiller channel (257).

Not only did I love this show, do I love this show but this show truly did change television. Its influence is still being felt from the best and more popular shows of today.

I would suck Lynch's dick.

I wish there was show on today that was as good.....fuck....I'd like to know what happened after the final episode which had more loose threads than a cheap suit

There is, Paul...it's called Lost.

I make the comparison all the time because I'm afraid Lost'll get cancelled before they can wrap it up too. Although it looks like theyve taken steps to prevent that.

I grew out of lost half way through season 3 but always felt Lost never saw weirdness in the way Twin Peaks did. Lost seemed to see weirdness as something to awe and fuss over, "look how weird this is" but Peaks saw weirdness as something that is. Weird shit goes on in the town, it's just how life works.

The show closest to Twin Peaks was the similarly shortly lived and might be HBO's greatest accomplishment: Carnivale.

that still doesn't solve the problem of what happened in the final episode of Twin Peaks.....or for that matter what happens in any David Lynch film......If only it was okay to kidnap Lynch for a few hours and get some freaking answers.....

I loved this show. I was raised on Lynch. My parents had me watching Eraserhead at about 5 years old, which could only have done some sort of mutation on my developing mind.

I always felt that the show died because the general viewing audience was too focused on the murder of Laura Palmer, which was really just a side plot set against the story of the Black Lodge. When the second season was not spending enough time on Laura Palmer, the ratings must have dropped.

The Autobiography of Dale Cooper, written by Scott Frost, and the Diary of Laura Palmer, written by Lynch's daughter, are great books for any Twin Peaks fans that want more of the story.

Is the second season out on DVD? It seems like the first one came out 5 years ago, and I assumed the second one would never resurface.

For a long time, I tried to over-analyze Lynch and try and find a specific meaning to his work. Around the time of Lost Highway, I decided that even Lynch doesn't really know what happens in his films. They are kind of like a mental collage with loose plots woven through, a filmic rorschach channeling Hieronymus Bosch.

Second season came out about two months ago. I waited so long that I gave up hope! I found out about it when Ron & Fez were giving it out in the Big Ass Prize closet! It didn't seem like Ron ever talked too much about it though which surprised me because it seems like a show he would like.
