You Can't Do That On Television

This was one of my most favorite shows growing up and when 4:00 in the afternoon would hit, you could bet your ass I would be there watching. I remember the green slime when they would say "I don't know" and how I would do that in the shower with food coloring and soap bubbles all the time. The set of multi-colored lockers with the cast members popping out with their bad jokes. The spoof clip art of celebrities doing wacky things. I found a great website here: http://www.ycdtotv.com
That helped to further bring back memories. Now for the obscure question, anyone remember Out Of Control also on Nickelodeon? That show was pretty out there too. What kind of drugs do they do in Canada anyway?

god i used to love you cant do that on television and yes i do remember out of control, i think theres only one other person in the world ive talked to that has actually remembered it....i was young but i used to LOVE IT!!!

they need to have a channel where theyd play all those old nick and disney channel shows...like welcome freshman and hey dude, etc.

i also sed to watch the mickey mouse club and kids incorperated...i now realize the guy in kids incorperated was a big kid toucher

Holy S! Which kid? There are a few Out Of Control sites out there which I found last night. It brought me back to the hurry-up and some of educational stuff they would show in facotries and stuff. I think there was also some kind of food segment where they would have the worst combinations ever. I am remembering something with a hot dog but it is not coming to me.

I read someting last night about how so many opf the YCDTOTV shows are so non-PC now and Nick wouldn't even show them. As a matter of fact, Nickelodeon doesn't or never has owned the rights to the show. They just aired it and then used the grren slime as a vehicle for their channel for all these years. All the shows are still owned by the station in Ottawa where the show originated. There was a fan convention last year called SlimeCon which looked hella cool. I hope there is one this year, I would go.

Jesus, between Out of Control, Today's Special, Pinwheel, You Can't do that on Television, Mr Wizard and NUMEROUS cartoons, I don't think I even switched my TV off Nickelodeon as a child.

I have them to thank for who I turned out to be today. That's why I've filed my lawsuit...

I loved You Can't Do That On Television! Barth, the chef at the restaurant the kids ate at, was great. I also liked it when they would make fun of that girl Christine and call her fat. You would never see that on a kids show today; everybody has to respect one another nowadays. YCDTOTV was totally tastless, and it was the best.

You Cant Do That on Television!!! Thats when Nickelodeon was Nickelodeon. Whoever thought that dikey looking girl would grow up to be Alanis Morisette. Alisdair was the man? What the hell happened to him or anyone else for that matter.
