And I LOVE it. Burning is for barbarians.

Apples in Stereo : Discovery of a World Inside the Moone

Adamson, Barry : Murky World of Barry Adamson

Slim Cessna's Auto Club : Always Say Please and Thank You

Pop, Iggy : Nude & Rude: The Best of Iggy Pop

Brassic Beats: Trip Hop All Funked Up

DJ Food : Kaleidoscope

Lilys : In the Presence of Nothing

El Stew : No Hesitation

Radio Four : New Song and Dance

DJ Disk : Phonosychographdisk Vs. The Filthy Ape Mooch Moose

Nude Dimensions, Vol. 1 [Astralwerks]

And those were just the ones I bought today, bringing my total this week to about 43.

Anyone else defy the season recently and only bought for themselves? It feels delicious.

true, but you save a TON of money, my friends and i alternate over albums to buy, then burn and distribute them. its much cheaper. unless you have a friend supplying you with them for free.

Fuck downloading free music. Any artist worth listening to is worth my hard earned cash. And since there are not that many artists worth listening to im all too happy to line their pockets. Support GOOD music!!!

I haven't paid more than ten dollars for a CD in a good five years. Find local music shops in the area that sell used CD's, or just use the internet. You can't turn around on the web without dripping over another few hundred discount or used stores. And most (good)new bands have their albums pushed in chains like Best Buy and Circuit City for $6.99-$9.99. Can't beat that.

I use MP3's to see if I like an artist. If I do, I buy the album and see them in concert, because I want them to be able to make more great music. It's really very simple.

Plus, y'know those little mailing cards that come with a lot of CD's? Fill them out, especially with new and unknown bands and small labels. You'll get tons of stickers, flyers and posters, backstage at FREE shows, and best of all, free CD's. It's not hard, people. Stop being lazy.

That's largely what I do as well, though some albums I may not have had the interest in getting, but then a friend will give me a copy of it, if I like it a lot I'll buy a copy. I've done that numerous times. I also download music, and if I like it I'll support it as well.

Yea I do it all the time.
I cant wait to get a friggin cd burner. I know I'm behind on the times. When I download music i do it to see if I like the music then like others have said I will buy the cd. But ya know the parents money only goes so far. Ugh I need a job!
And I haven't gotten one of those cards in my cd's in the longest time.

This has been another post by the Sweet one!

Compliments on the buying as I do much of the same. Supporting independent record stores and labels is the way to. Take for instance No Idea Records out of Gainesville, Florida is not only a kick ass label but as far as a distro goes, they sell almost everything at cost, which is great. I have dropped so much cash there over the past year or so. They deal mostly in punk, hardcore and most other independent artists. I have not bought too much for myself in the past few weks except for some 70's era Scorpions and Laaz Rockit albums. I am just not finding anything interesting and new out there. Granted I have not looked recently but nothing has caught my ear. Any recommendations on something that will just kick my ass and rock me?

Head to the "TOPE TEN ALBUMS OF 2002" thread and take your pick. People are pretty spot-on in it. Of course, mine are all the best, but that's obvious.
