I'm really not looking foward to Christmas. For no other reason, then I'm just not into the Christmas spirt.
When I was younger, I would be so excited at this time of the year...now...it seriously is just another day off from work for me.
I dont know what it is? I dont feel like I have anything to look forward to.
It's just going to be another day i'm going to be forced to eat dinner with family.
Can Christmas feelings go away? Is it just that i'm getting older and it's no longer special?
Am i just a scruge?
I lost the Christmas spirt...bahh humbug.

I hardly ever go home anymore, so the prospect of seeing my entire immediate family is exciting. No matter what the reason, we always have a great time when we're all together. I don't care the slightest about getting any presents. It's really all about family and friends for me.

I don't care either. My fathers side of the family has a Christmas party every year on the 24th and I'm not gonna go this year.
I'm the only one of the "kids" (most of us are in our 20's now) who goes every year and it's always boring.
I don't really have anything good going on right now and don't feel like being asked if I'm seeing someone or working a hundred times.

I usually work Christmas so the other guys can take off and be with their families. Same thing this year. As long as i make it home every thanksgiving, my family doesnt mind. Christmas is for kids and families with kids in them. You are not alone, Bobby. But Merry Christmas anyway!

JewThe only reason I cant be Jewish, is because I wouldnt be able to care enough if the steak i'm eating is kosher.

It doesn't feel like Christmas to me, either. I think that once you're not a kid anymore and don't have any children of your own, it just becomes another stressful time of year where you have to run around like a lunatic buying gifts.
It's a shame, really, but that's the way I feel.

I concur. Plus there's the joy of a traffic-laden, six hour drive up to CT.

yeah dude, christmas is kinda beat as you get older, but watch a good christmas movie and that might get you into it. i would suggest die hard and lethal weapon, those are two of the best christmas movies ever.

I know what you mean. Most of us are in our 20's and we're not kids anymore so there's no more spirit and excitement about it. I guess when we all start having babies and start up the Christmas spirit and excitement with them, that's when it gets to be fun again.
