I remember Time Out NY had a story on NY Radio picks a couple of years ago. I don't have that handy, but I'm a big radio fan and want to find out what else is on the dial. Besides Ron and Fez what else do you listen to? I make sure to listen to This American Life every week.

I've said it before on this board...BOB GRANT. WWOR 710 am 5-7. right after Bill O'Reilly and right before R&F

"Your revolution is over Mr. Lebowski! My advice to you is to do what your parents did! Get a job sir! The bums will always lose Mr. Lebowski, The bums will always lose!

I spent too much time listening to Bob Grant when I was a kid ... I still remember "Mario, te sai brovinos s'fachim."

I used to enjoy Jay Diamond, but he became extremely cynical and canned his impersonations -- which I considered the highlight of his show. From what I've heard of him on WOR recently he seems to be a shell now.

On WOR I enjoy listening to Joan Hamburg. She seems to know what's going on in the city and has a nice chatty show where she shares it.

I listen to most talk radio. I flip from the FAN to NEW to Wabc... When I want Music I turn on the XM.

I listen to ESPN RADIO more than the FAN.

I listen to Bob Grant too. It's too bad he's only on 2 hours a day but he's wanted to cut back for a while (understandable, I think he's in his late 60's). Sean Hannity talkes himself WAY too seriously and Bill O'Reilly's show is suprisingly dull.

As to that rant Grant had about Mario, it just means
"You're a stupid person".

That Bob Grant phrase was "mario, asientame, te sai brovinos s'fachim." I don't know italian so I'm spelling by sounding it out phonetically. It translates to "mario, listen up, you're a jerk!!" Even when I was a little kid I got annoyed when so many people called my governor bad names!!

On WNYC I like Brian Lehrer too. It's clear he's peeved by Pataki's doublefacing and even though he usually doesn't express his own opinions on the radio I'm happy he's showing Pataki to be the crook he is. Since Bush was elected many ultra-liberals have flocked to WNYC because there's not many alternatives for political radio and Lehrer has stepped up here too by calling them on their facts too.

Fuck Bob Grant.

I listen to Rush at 12 and Hannity at 3.

Other than that, it's ONLY Ron and Fez.

If none of these are an option, that's why I bought a CD player for my car.

Fuck radio right up it's modulationg ass. It's not gonna dictate to ME the type of music I'm forced to listen to.

It didn't bother me when Bob Grant called Mario Cuomo that. It was true.

Back to topic... There really isn't any talk alternative in NY to sports and politics. That's why it's such a shame Infinity so completely F'd up WNEW.

Prairie Home Companion usually puts me to sleep. The episodes broadcast from New York earlier this year were exceptions, but the second I hear he's doing a show about Cletusville Kentucky I turn the radio off. His voice has something to do with it too. I respect the tastes of other people, but why does WNYC broadcast this show on both AM and FM bands? Without the RnF replay there is no alternative anywhere on the radio dial or tv/cable at this time.

On the other hand Sundays on WNYC are my favorite -- at 10:00 on Morning Edition Sunday we hear "voices in the news this past week" which sends chills up my spine, probably becuase of the music set in the background ... and then TAL!! Unfortunately Ira Glass has been doing a lot of investigative/war reporting on his show lately, but I hope he realizes this is not his strength and gets back to business soon.
