SEEYUH!!
Talking to people on IM, it becomes apparent that different people spell it different ways. Some folks actually use a C some have it as two different words. I believe my way is the definitive version. What say the rest of you, oh mavens of the message board?

For a definitive answer, you have to turn back to origins. The term derives from ancient Egyptian. If you reference William B. MacDonald's Sketch of Coptic Grammar of 1856, which is my favorite source on this matter, you'll find that it is actually composed of three separate symbols.

The first, the bird, symbolizes flight or departure. The second, the outstretched hand, symbolizes the bond between the two persons. The third symbol, the post, signifies the one left behind.

Clearly, then, the three Egyptian symbols most literally translate into three English ones, hence, CYA.
