he is a senior High School basketball player in Ohio. he is already projected to go #1 in this years NBA draft and from the things i've read he would have gone #1 last year if he was old enough. this kid is getting so much hype that his games are available for around $7 on PPV and he has a game at 7:30 tonight on ESPN2. this is the first time i've ever heard of this for a regular HS basketball game. he is getting all the same talk you usually get about these kids...the "NEXT" Jordan or Kobe.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this kid play and thought some of you may be also.

I think they are overhyping the kid.

Too much pressure... let's see if he turns out to be a KG or just another CBA All-Star.

i personally just don't think kid should turn pro with out at least 2 years in college...just cause you are good in high school don't mean shit in the pros... news flash if you are in the NBA most likely you were really good in highschool....

Irish, believe the hype. All NBA players were good in HS but not this good. And why go to college? Risk a career ending injury and then back to the ghetto? Fuck that. Go to the NBA and get your 100 mil+ contract, and become possibly the greatest ever.

Anyway, the game just ended on ESPN and James had 31 points, 12 boards and 6 assists as his team beat the #1 HS team in the country by 20. Not too shabby.

I think I am believing the hype. WOW, he tore that shit down last night!

For a high school kid, he has the complete package and he can fucking fly! Slam Dunk Contest winnner anyone? He should steal Corliss Williamson nickname and be called "The Big Nasty"!

He'll be fun to watch in years to come.

i think he will be something special also, but i'd like to see him play against people who can physically match up with him. He was out jumping people by about a foot and was hitting most shots from around 5 feet away. his first dunk was awesome though. had so much power behind it.

I dont think he will end up being as good as everyone says he will be..for the simple fact that it takes everyone a while to be any good, and theyre gonna expect this guy to be jordan right off the bat and he won't be. everyone will label him a failure and a bust and wreck his confidence.

the real guy who's name you should memorize is Darko Mlicic out of Yugoslavia. This guy is 17 years old, 7 foot 245, basically Nowitzki except he plays nasty tough in the paint and plays really good D.

but james prolly will go 1, and then 10-15 Euros in a row...

LeBron will do well in the NBA for a while. When they ask him to take a team on his back, that's when he'll fail.He lacks the maturity to do that.

I'm Ron and Fez's lovechild.You so stuuupid!!!

There is a kid in the NBA by the name of DaJuan Wagner. He plays for the Cleveland Cavs. He was also known at one time as the best player in the country when in high school. The kid averaged over 40 points a game in his senior year, and scored 100 points in a game. He made a wise descision and went to college for one year and was drafted #6 and is now averaging 19.4 PPG 1.6 RPG & 4.3 APG. Now that is with 1 year of college experience. Imagine how he would be if he stayed the full four years?

i read that article the other day and the guy has some valid points, but not many HS players that good need to play hard defense or even work on their jumper at that level. no one can stop them so they get within 5 feet of the basket all game long. it is something that they usually pick up in college. he is going to be #1 because they all think he will be able to pick that stuff up at the highest level. he will have huge expectations, but i don't think anyone expects him to carry a pro team on his back for a few years...they just want to make sure they have the kid on their team for the future.

the person i compare the hype James is getting to is Felipe Lopez when he was in High School. big time let down, but at least he made the pros.

was just wondering if anyone saw his dunk yesterday. during a game he put the ball through his legs in the air for a nice power dunk. i think i could do the same dunk, but i would have to stand on my car and put the ball through my legs before I jumped.

the clip is available on ESPN.com. i would link it, but i'm not sure how to link a video.
