CD Re-Issues

OK. So now I hear that AC/DC are back with Sony and are once again reissuing their entire CD catalog with some kind of internet features that would access exclusive tracks on the CD. DIDN'T I JUST BUY THEIR DAMN REISSUES A FEW YEARS AGO???? I am so friggin' sick of bands doing this. Kiss did it, and they are planning to reissue theirs again. Ozzy did it too. It's really not fair. If you are a loyal fan of these bands, you are expected to re-buy their CDs every couple of years. And suckers like me do it.

I love it when they come out with the "remastered" CDs or the compilations with alternative takes and demos. I give in and buy them every time.

I feel sorry for the people who bought the new Nirvana for just that one song.

Two welcomed reissues are the Replacements back catalog from Twin Tone and Uncle Tupelo's early albums.

And speaking of, they're doing it with DVD's. I bought True Romance and 2 weeks later a special 2-DVD Collectors edition was being sold for same price. Same goes for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, etc. etc.

As far as DVD's go, I can understand a little bit. They wanted to get the films out on the market first and then they redo all the bonus features the right way and dig up old shit and then put it out.

Now the issue with CD's....I can see it being the labels decision (Sony) to do it for AC/DC because in the end the labels make the decisions. I am not gonna buy them again and I got thisa thing about unreleased tracks. No track is truly unreleased, they surface somewhere if you look and if they were good in the first place wouldn't we have heard them years ago. I got the Priest remasters and they sound terrific but the bonus tracks have a little bit to be desired. They are ok but i see why they didn't release them years back. There is this new Maiden box set out with unreleased songs but again, maybe there is a reason why they are unreleased. A band captures a moment in time when they record the record. Priest with Vengeance, Maiden with The beast and Powerslave, KISS with Love Gun and so on. if the band didn't add the track then there has got to be aa reason for it and there is now way I am gonna re-buy what I have already got. Don't even get me started on the Ozzy remasters because they are an abortion. To erase out Daisley and Aldridge off of the record is blasphemy and how Sharon got away with that is beyond me. hope they do get all the cash they can when they sue her.
