Christmas trees- Real or fake?

We just got our Christmas tree tonight. For the third year in a row, I am privilaged to have a real tree. I grew up never having a real tree until 2000. Now I love them. All the pine needles, all the sap, they are awesome!!!!!! I would never get a fake tree again.

i like our fake one. the only time we had a real one was the year i was super sick during xmas, and when they were putting the tree up they took all the boxes/etc on the floor and piled them onto my fragile lil body.

my mom bought a whole bunch of balsalm fir fragrance thingies. it looks like a giant bag of weed.

we've been getting real for about 10 years now...
I can't see going back to artificial...
but i've never had a tree that gave off a "strong" pine odor.
It's only a little messy when you're throwing it away and you have to squeeze it through the doorway but a few minutes of vacuuming gets it cleaned up and you have actually added a bit of "air freshener" to your vacuum bag with the pine needles...

I grew up with a fake tree because my father is allergic to pine... I always liked our fake tree, though.

The best was that my grandmother used to have one of those silver trees made out of aluminum or mylar or something. Totally retro and old-fashioned... It used to have this light that shined on it and rotated to change colors (since you couldn't put any electric lights on it for risk of shorting out).

My whole life my family has put up a FAKE ASS PIECE OF SHIT.

So even today, I'll go over people's house, and they think I'm some sort of FREAK that I go over to their REAL tree and just smell it, and hang out by it.

I SO WANT A REAL FUCKING TREE! But since we got new furniture, we don't even have a place to put up our shitty fake one!

Christmas is no more in my household. I cry for Yuletide spirit lost.

Real. Nothing beats the smell of a real Christmas tree. This year, however, we're going to have to put barbed wire up around our tree. With 2 new puppies and 2 cats, I know I'm going to come home one day and find the tree crashed through the front window.
