Stern weighs in on Lenay?

Did anyone else hear Howard this morning? While he was playing his 'Meanest Listener Contest' tapes, a little girl called in and started to make fun of him calling him a stupid idiot and whatnot. This prompted Howard and Robin to attack the girl and parents saying that it was bad parenting and tantamount to child abuse to coach a child to do and say those kinda things. The whole bit had a setup feel to it, and it's too much like Lenay's situation to be coincidence. Maybe Howard's a little jealous because no one ever wrote a letter to stop him from being taken off the air. That's all, not a huge deal, just interesting to note.

I couldn't catch it this morning, but I could see him doing a bit like that. Most of his shows lately seem very scripted, like he is almost reading it off a sheet word for word.

i heard this too. it sounded scripted yes but to link it to lenay is a bit of a stretch. And I am sure if howard was on the verge of being taken off the air there would be swarms of letters trying to convince the station otherwise. I am also sure that people have written letters in support of stern during his fights with the FCC. And yes Howard has seen better days But he has a lot of fans legions of loyal fans and i would hope you all realize that without howard there would have been no O & A. Ron and Fez are good enough that if stern didn't exist they would still have a show I am sure most of us at one time were or still are fans of stern. He's not as funny but still made a huge impact on radio. I don't think lenay even crosses his mind
