Wisdom Teeth Removal

It hurt like hell, but i got 28 percosets out of it then told them the next day they were giving me a rash so now its 28 Percocet plus 25 vicodin
so the pain was worth it because now im floating

no joke - I had my teeth pulled in college - all 4 - it took 5 1/2 hours - I was awake the entire time and I still have to feeling in the bottom left side of my face. It all had something to do with one tooth being wrapped with the nerve and vein or artery. messed up huh

Nice, mine come out in a month, they said it was 2 hours per tooth for four teeth. I'm really hoping i'll get some nice pain pills out of the deal.

i remember "no pain killers" and alot of pain, blood, and saliva throughout the night...

mine are all impacted - and the top right one is pushing hard enough that a sharp point is sticking outta my gum. It got infected last week.

I'm terrified to have it done, but I'll prolly have it done next month. ew.

They took out all four of mine at once and they weren't impacted. They gave me some nice intraveneous drugs (mama's little helpers, I think they were) and I gave a 'thumbs up' whenever they took one out. Like Alice, I only used the one Tylenol with codeine. We're real men.. or something.

I had a pretty bad experience. I got hit with a chain in a fight and it broke my jaw. Little did I know that it also broke the 2 wisdom teeth that were STILL IN THE GUM!!! They had to slit open my gum and take out the wisdom teeth. Most painful thing in my entire life. Ended up throwing that guy into a car window when I got all healed though.:-)

ok I will need a group hug after reliving this story for you all. I was gonna have two out by this gret oral surgen, but dad found a guy who would do it for 3 hundred less. Well I was young and my mum was out of town ( the only reason he thought he could get away with it). I went the cheap guy who gave me three times the proper dosage anasthegia. One tooth into it, I woke up ( the anasthesia had reversed itself) He said he needed to take all four out and he had to have me tied down becuase I was flipping from pain. Someone was ordered to hold my sister back from my screams and when I went back a week later to have the stiches out he was gone, closed up shop.

Anyhow, I have to get my top two taken out. I only had three (I guess Ron would think I'm 1/4 evolved...). <P>
The bottom one was taken out when I was in high school. That was an experience. It was impacted, so they had to slice my gum open, drill it to pieces, and take the pieces out one by one. Then, while I was opened up, the dentist found a rough spot on my jawbone, so he filed it down. Believe me, you NEVER want to feel someone filing down a bone in your skull. <P>
Oh, and the worst part about the whole thing was, I was awake for the entire ordeal and about ten seconds after they made the incision, I noticed that I could see everything the surgeon was doing reflected in the chrome of the light he had shining into my mouth! <P>

All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted. I got the intravenous anesthetic which was just wonderful. I felt great for the first day or two, but after that, I felt like crap. Eating pudding and soup for a week straight is not fun.

Ryan, I think they start growing (=bugging you) when you are around 18 years old.

And as long as you don't have any pain from them, I don't think you have to get them removed.

i did that two years ago!!! too bad i was only 17 which when i was that age i was too young to realize what a good thing percocets were...but after a week i sure knew..and i went back for my check up and said i was still in pain but he gave me 2.5 mg vikes.. pooooooppp if you ask me now..but at the timei w as like yay more fun pill thingies. plus my mom didn't make me go to school

had mine done when i was about 22...3 at one time, All I remember is hearing my teeth being crushed while they were still in my jaw..crack snap.....and then seeing the bits and pieces of tooth running throught that vacum tube. Oh yea and the pieces of teeth falling down my throat and gagging on them. Swallowing blood and salt for 3 days was sweet too.

i had mine done several years ago. my top teeth were easy but my bottom teech were impacted so they had to cut my gums, cut part of the tooth, and wedge the rest of it out. it hurt like hell even with the novocaine.i had my upper & lower left side first then a month later my right side. I had stiches and everything. the meds were soooooooooooo good. i was popping them like tic-tacs.

Thank god theyre gone too, i was afraid i was going to wear braces again.

I begged to be knocked out. I don't understand when people aren't put under.

The creepy thing is that they gave me my wisdom teeth in a tiny manila envelope. One still had a chunk of gum attached to it. I don't know why they gave them to me-- wouldn't that be considered medical waste?

But while we're at it...if you've already had them removed, why not:

Volunteer at a local hospice and switch your patients Oxycontin with generic ibuprofen or Fentanyl patch with a generic Nicotine patch?

Get a really terminal person and you get all the leftovers too.

They still manufacture it as Ocycontin. Oxycontin is time released Oxycodone. Oxycodone is what is in Percocet (Usually 2.5 or 5mg). Oxy is the same thing as percocet, just that its anywhere from 10-80mg of oxycodone released over 12 hours. That's why people crush and snort it, to get all 10-80mg in one shot.

If not abused, Oxycodone will not kill you.
