No cent symbol on the keyboard, WTF!?!? [Archive]

Am I insane, or just unobservant? I see the dollar sign($), but I cannot find the cent sign anywhere on my keyboard. I have the creeping dread feeling that I'm the victim of some kind of Communist conspiracy.

There isnt even a cent sign on the character map. there used to be cent signs on typewriters, but now its gone! I often talk about my 2 cents and its aggrivating to type it out and $.02 just isnt as effective... I feel your pain.

All you have to do is hold down the ALT key, type 0162 on the numeric keypad (it won't work with the regular numbers on the top of the keyboard), then release the ALT key, and voila!

I personally been using computers for 20 years (I still have my C64, love that thing!!! and there is a very cool inside joke about the C64 in Vice City)

And then I went and got a bachelors in computer science.

Oh yeah, and I work as a software engineer.
