It is funny because are'nt a lot of "imports" made in the USA now? A good amount of the domestic automobiles are processed and made in Canada and Mexico because the big US auto guys were losing money having the cars made here. Remember the GM plant that literally shut down and ravaged the city of Flint, Michigan? Greed seeking more and more and more. Does it ever end?

as a former auto guy i can say imports do last longer, but parts for american cars are built every where else!! my american cars never fell apart on me! next time you buy parts look on the box to see where it was made.

Gimmie a Mini S or a Golf VR6 and see how long your domestic or rice burner lasts. Wanna go up in price? I've got an M3 for you. Hell, i could take a 1990 Mercedes 190E and rip apart most Civics. You can add all the horsepower you want to your imports, but your front wheel driver will still understeer around the corners. Not that American cars are much better, at least the imports make it around the corner without falling apart.
