we are perceived as the benefactor of israel ( i.e. "the jews") in the eyes of the world.
it is largely true.
there are a lot of people that are united in one thing- their hatred of jews and anyone who supports them.
from the islamic fundamentalists to people in south america who still despise this country for our involvement there (contras, anyone?) to anarchists who will not tolerate the abuse of the economy and the environment to home grown right wing seperatists and militias, the U.S. has a lot to deal with for a long time. if these forces united, say hello to world war 3.

i think it's time we seperated our selves from the situation with israel.

Israel simply won't win a war on their own. I absolutely despise war. I feel the nation of Israel should be protected and we should do so by continuing to seek peace through peaceful methods.

It's this simple the rest of the would hates us becouse we support Isreal and the Jewish comunity.
For what ever reasons the rest of the would hates them is on them. But we support the Jews becouse the jews in America control the Movies, Jewlwey, Insurance and the banks. therefore we cant let them fall.

Israel doesn't want to go to war but it has to. This is because the arabic countries could completely bitch smack them. No one is safe to go anywhere in israel anymore jews and palistinians alike. While i'm jewish I do admit that most of the israeli attacks were short sighted and hurt more common people than military. I'm against it. <P>
I think that it wouldn't be right to not help out israel. They were one of the first nations to pledge support after september 11 and also a firm supporter on our war on terrorism. Right now like the many years before this Israel is in a perpetual terrorist attack. What reason do we have not to fight the country should was made to represent everything that the United States believes in. The blaming our connection to Israel for the terrorist attacks in america isn't a very strong arguement. If Israel didn't exist then we would be blaming it on something like trade relations to Russia because the taliban waged a war against them. People overlook the fact that our culture is based on the sins of their culture: women in short skirts, dog eat dog business, freedom of speech and religion. <P>
Israel is already a nonfactor in most of the worlds decisions based on the arabic countries. The united nations breaks up the world into groups based on regions and Israel is in the arabic portion. They deny Israel all nomination councils bids and deny their right to speech.Israel is the only country that isn't on a council in the United nations, this can only be attributed to racism.
While Israel hasn't been anywhere near perfect with their foriegn affairs we can't leave them to suffer a swift death from racist enemies.
One final point, If we leave Israel alone and they get conquered, who do you think would be next, US. I can't imagine living in a place like Israel but if we just let the palistinians we that is what our world will be like. Sorry for the long rambling post.

true. outside of Turkey, we don't have an ally in the region. and turkey is less strategic than isreal.

and we can no longer consider saudi arabia and kuwait "friendly" nations.
