the special edition with the deleted scenes is playing right now on PPV. It's a shame they cut those scenes. they really enhance the movie.
Still no Tom Bombaloo.

Can't wait to watch the special edition. Just got the 5-dvd collector's edition set, but I haven't been able to open it yet. I just like looking at it, all neat and packaged.
Not to mention that once I open it, I'll have to devote countless hours to watching the extended edition, and all the special features...

Tom Bombaloo
Gol'beeeeeery I hoooome. Joo gah sum splainin' to do.
Edit: I got all caught up in my own hilarity and forgot to comment on the film. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! This cut is superior to an already great film. The extended and additional scenes, fill in gaps you didn't even realize were there, but once filled you can't imagine how they were left out. I don't see myself ever watching the original cut again, or feeling the need to. Really a masterful, masterful film.

I can see why Bombadill never made it into the movie. At first blush, his whole storyline is easy to snip, since it's seemingly disconnected from the rest of the story. But, I've always liked him as proof that, no matter what happens in the world - war, destruction, etc. - nature keeps going regardless. <P>
