HK, what can one person do to really make a difference in the world? Is there anything that can be done to change the way society is and the negatives, just being an individual?

Sundoggy, If you are serious, I have a great website for you to check out.
The group is called 20/20 vision. Basically they help people make a difference who are to busy to make a difference.
For $20 a year, 20/20 vision does research in your area and finds relevant issues and causes in your area that interest you. Then, they give you a "20" minute action you can take to help out with that effort.
They are very successful and have been around for quite some time now.
Check them out at:

TomPoo, I checked out that site you mentioned and it's pretty interesting. I'll let you know if I get into doing it, but I want to research that webpage a little more. But for only $20 a year it's pretty good. Are you a member of it?
And I don't talk on my cell phone in the car unless i use my headset, my room it clean, and I don't pick my nose! Plus those somoa girl scout cookies are just too damn good Poot!

You've already made a difference by asking the question. Thought leads to action.
First thing you have to remember is that you don't have to solve all problems of the world in order to make it a better place.
Make a difference by genuinely caring about people one person at a time. A smile, a positive word and empathy for others feelings can change lives.

Sunndoggy,
I am not a member, I figure I rent $20 worth of porn each month and masturbate 20 minutes every day. I figure I am helping myself out, and indirectly that makes the world a better place.

TOMPOO - That's not asking anything unusual. It's merely caring and expressing empathy for your fellow person.

Caring for others... I don't know, I don't know if I can do that while being totally self-interested.
