Many people won't agree and more will think this is sacrilege. But reading the Board recently and seeing references to him ranging from the Cover Song thread to screen names (Mojo Pin) I have to say the dead rock star tragedy of the past decade was not Kurt but Jeff Buckley.
Kurt was brilliant, his legacy lives on with his music. But Kurt wanted out and killed himself. Jeff died accidentally and on the cusp of what augured to be an amazing career after just one monolithic album.
OK, so you bought the new Nirvana disc and the one song that you didn't have already.
But I dare someone to listen to JB's Grace and not be moved, both aurally and emotionally.
Kurt chose to burn out. Both Kurt and Jeff will not fade away.

Maybe there's a God above, but all I've ever learned from love, is how to shoot someone who outdrew you....
