I've never been a big fan of Hoffman's methods. I believe in evolution more than revolution.

Hoffman once said that, to be effective, the radical must choose between comedy and martyrdom. I think he's right there. He was a clown, but also pretty fiery. He did much that needed in his day.
The Good Humor man can be pushed only so far.

Abbie Hoffman could have been a great revolutionary but he went too far, His antics in the courtroom during the Seven's trial turned off many people who would have otherwise at least listened.

One of the funniest moments of my life was talking to a ex-patriot American bartender in Belize. He lived in San Francisco during the late-60s and obviously took tons of Acid. I asked him about Abbie Hoffman and he told me how much he hated, "those tragically-hip motherf&!kers." Why was Hoffman forced to go underground during the '70s? I know it had something to do with a Coke bust... right?
