Metal Fans: What's The Best 80's Metal Band [Archive]

ok, I'm gonna break this
down to TWO categories
just to be fair. First, name
the band you think
produced the best quality
music/most talent. Then
name the biggest band as
far as popularity or impact.
(ie - Hulk Hogan is the
greatest wrestler of all time.
Of course there are
wrestlers with far more
talent and ability than him,
but he will still go down as
the biggest wrestler ever.)

1) Cacophony/Jason
Becker

2) KISS

Hmmm...very interesting. Except, as a diehard KISS fan, the 80's were not very kind to them. Their best stuff was from the 70's. With the exceptions of "Creatures of the Night" and a few scattered songs on "Lick it Up", "Animalize", "Asylum", and "Crazy Nights", they were definately not at their musical peak.

So on that note-

Best Music-Iron Maiden, Metalica, Anthrax

Biggest Band- Motley Crue. Nobody was bigger or badder than the Crue.

Tallent, for my money, is THE POLICE. Is that metal enough? I think it's good. Well, I guess it's not really Metal. OK I'll start again.

On tallent, how about The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Great GROOVE!

As for big names of the 80's, how about Van Halen.
