I just picked up this gem on DVD the other day. The effects are kinds dated, but its still a fun, campy 80's horror flick. Anybody else remember this classic?

The Big Ass Club: These people looked deep within my soul and assigned me a number based on the order in which I joined.

It's one of the best vampire movies EVER because it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Remake is out this weekend, and it's getting good reviews.

I'm not much into horror flicks, but I'm been reading that this movie is a lot of fun.

Don't forget that Charlie Brewster played Herman Brooks in "Herman's Head."

In the 90s, Married with... Children with Amanda Bearse was followed by Herman's Head with William Ragsdale. Trippy for a teen like me who loved Fright Night.

The scene where "Jerry" is chasing them on the highway was awesome. Good remake.

The odd thing is that Hank Azaria from The Simpsons and Herman's Head considers that series to be a lowlight in his career. The show was goofy, but it wasn't horrible.

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**

On the topic of Fright Night, I thought that the movie dealt with Evil Ed and Peter Vincent a bit too quickly for my taste. The original film doesn't do a good job explaining Evil Ed but gives Stephen Jefferies' Evil Ed more actual screen time
than McLovin's Evil Ed. Amanda Bearce, the original Amy, gets much more screen time than Imogen Poots. This probably makes new Amy seem a little empty compared to old Amy.

The remake probably should've been a longer movie to flesh out some of the ideas they wanted to present. I would say it is the most respectful remake compared to the original since Dawn of the Dead.

Germaine Lassier not screening the movie annoyed me. He acted above it.
