Thoughts?
I only listened twice so far, but I like what I hear. Digging that tune, that goes 'your love is a tower' and track 2 so far. This album seems like it is only for true fans, Pj has definitely crossed back out of the mainstream.

I don't think they'll match TEN,but I think some of their other stuff has been pretty good.

Vs wasn't bad, but most of the recent stuff hasn't been good. Ten is one of my favorite albums though.
oh yeah, haven't heard much of Riot Act yet. so no opinion yet.

I don't care what anyone says, "Vitalogy" is a beautiful beast of an album. I haven't listened to "Ten" in years, but "Vitalogy" makes it onto my stereo at least once a week.

Good call Mojo. Other than the filler nonsense littered throughout Vitalogy, it does contain some of their strongest songs to date (Cordurouy, betterman, nothing man, immortality). Not to mention the cool little booklet that comes with the album. Since Vitalogy though, their studio albums (No Code, Yield, Binaural, and now riot act) have actually been very good albums (nothing like the first 3) but not commercial successes which makes them even cooler in my opinion. Anyway after another listen, the song "loveboat captain" sounds pretty damn cool too.
I want to hear feedback from Flavorsaver. He actually has the album cover incorporated in his sigpic.

Ten and Vs. are the only Pearl Jam CDs I own. The last one I bought was Vitalogy, but I sold it.

I'm picking up "Act" tomorrow, Patches. I've got everything except "No Code", which, for all the times I've tried, I just can't get into. I thought "Yield" was utterly fanastic, and I'm glad to see the guys have settled into a comfortable position as musicians instead of personalities. It's like they took the long, painful route to get somewhat near what Fugazi have going today. And Pearl Jam are still one of the best live acts you can see today. Absolutely beautiful. And everyone may be ripping him off today, but Vedder is one of a kind. His voice and intensity are like forces of nature.

it's the money. it's pretty hard and his lyrics are fantastic on the album.
of course it's nothing like ten, but that's one of the greatest albums of all time, you cannot repeat that.
but i have every single pearl jam album and all of them are better than anything you hear on the radio. their last album binaural kicks fucking ass too, once you stop expecting another ten you realize how great a band they really are.
