View Full Version : Who is Your Favorite B-Movie Actor/Actress?
The Chairman

Adrienne, My Adrienne
My Vote: Adrienne Barbeau!
They say kids know their sexual orientation as early as age 4. While not as precocious, I knew I was heterosexual around the age of 6, when the spongy tissue surrounding the shaft of my not yet folliculated penis engorged ever so slightly with prepubescent blood every time the 70's sitcom All In The Family offshoot Maude came on...
No, it wasn't Bea Arthur who stimulated my petite pecker. Rather, it was the woman who played her daughter Carol, Adrienne Barbeau, that noted thespian who went on to achieve acclaim in such feature films as The Fog, Escape from New York, Creepshow, and of course, Cannibal Woman in the Avocado Jungle of Death.
Surely you remember Ms. Barbeau, who has two large distinguishing features, both mirror images of each other and composed of glandular tissue forming fifteen or twenty lobes arranged radially about the mammary papilla.
Perhaps it was that my mother didn't breast feed me, but rather gave me some soy based solution so as not to challenge my colic prone alimentary canal. Perhaps it was that I was a child prodigy, and just plain knew great boobs when I saw them. Whatever the case, I was enthralled by Adrienne Barbeau and her breasts, as they caught me in a tractor beam stronger than the one used to tow a Klingon Warship back to a Federation Star Base. Adrienne's breasts were the center of my universe. They were Mambo Kings that played me songs of love....
It was not easy to catch a glimpse of my furtive obsession. The reason - my bedtime was 9:30PM, which happened to be when Maude came on. The ritual - I would watch All in the Family with mom and dad from 9:00PM - 9:30PM. Then, just as the bars to the closing song came on , "Boy the way Glenn Miller Played, Songs that made the Hit Parade...." - that horrid harbinger which signaled that bedtime had arrived --- my mom would summon me to slumber....
But I was a crafty lad, and Morpheus would have to wait at least a half hour so I could feed my Adrienneophillic appetite. Kissing my parents good night, I would head upstairs, and when the coast was clear, into their bedroom, to turn on the TV and hear the mellifluous opening song of Maude, --- "Lady Godiva was a Freedom Rider....." This song would bring out a Pavlovian surge of preadolescent stupor that would transfix me to the television in nervous anticipation. ".....and then came Maude." - Who cared, what mattered was ...and then came Adrienne Barbeau.... If sitting too close to the TV set really made you blind like your mom used to say, then I would be walking around right now being led by a neutered Golden Retriever and humming Sir Duke while wearing dark sunglasses and clutching my Braille issue of Playboy...
(don't believe a Braille edition of Playboy exists?) - check out http://www.loc.gov/nls/reference/circulars/magprog.html#titles

without saying, Bruce "I thought Sam Raimi was a jerk in Drama class" Campbell. Even though is was in Spiderman and Fargo, he is still a B Movie actor. In my heart, most B-Movie Horror actors must strive to be like Bruce.

Ah, he was only technically in "Fargo". A clip of an old Canadian soap opera he was on was playing while the wife was being kidnapped, so he wasn't REALLY "in" it.
Bruce is still God. Try e-mailing him from his site. He always replies, and the man is damn funny...

My Vote: Adrienne Barbeau! I find little to argue with in your pensee Chairman, other than the fact you left out the Holy Grail of Barbeau worship: Swamp Thing! If any of you male oldsters want to remember what it felt like to be 12/13 when you were just dying to see a naked pair of boobies that didn't belong to someone with largely congruent DNA to yours, go rent/buy and watch that DVD. <P>

Tim Curry. Crispin Glover.
"McHale's Navy" blows my minds, since both Campbell and Curry are in it.
Same with "Charlie's Angels", where Curry and Glover show up.

i dont know if he would be considered a b-movie actor, but i love steve buscemi. although he is in a few major movies, he always has small parts in them. he is one of the main representees of the indie film industry, and because he's been in such a vast number of them i think it qualifies him as a b-movie actor.
