MAN that was a Bitchin' look! All the Death Metal acts from the early 90's have them on in their band pictures! So everytime I put on Suffocation, or Benediction, or whatever I see these HUGE white sneakers!

And WHO didn't have a pair of BK's or Reeboks that were just HUGE WHITE HIGH TOPS back in the day?

You go to the store now, and there's all these expensive, SINFULLY UGLY sneakers with all this shit in and on them. I WANT SIMPLICITY AGAIN!!

was in a store yesterday and saw the new Nikes, they have these 4 shock absorbers for a heel...think they were near 140.00...
i picked up a pair of biege e-americas, first time seeing this brand, only 45.00...thought they looked kind of cool and comfortable...

how about the old PONY brand, they had an outlet in Secaucus we used to visit...

Too hard to keep clean. I'll stick with my Steve Maddens.

I'm with DukesFan....my Madden's are on point.

Oh, your in luck....a few months ago FootLocker started going retro....the sneakers you mentioned are now available along with tons of other kicks from the 80's.

My Pro-Keds years (1-4 grade)canvas high tops in almost any color with the red/blue stripe on side.
5-10th grade alternated among Adidas Superstar High Tops (shell toe with three stripes in either red, black or blue), Nike Bruin with Black Swoosh stripe, or the occasional Converse All-Star. Problem with the leather high tops was that while they were mostly leather, the back of the high tops(part above the heel) was made of pleather and usually was first part to rip. 12th grade was New Balance High Tops (N's) with tongue hanging out of acid washed jeans. Then I got a life and went for the Converse Superstar high tops, usually in white, which served me well, especially through the grunge years. Now, it's simply high top Doc Marten's and Five-Ten hiking shoes.

For the Steve Madden supporters, come on BCBG blows Madden away and at least Max Azria isn't in jail for insider trading of his stock.

If my memory serves me correctly...

I high school I had leather Nike running shoes with a baby blue swoosh. Lots of smooth white leather-perfect for writing crib notes on. Helped me pass my French final.I also had those gay white jazz shoes. In college I had thoese totally rad white rebock aerobic sneaks with the velcro tabs.

what about Kangaroos? they had the little pouch on the side to store whatever. I was only 8 at the time, but I thought they were cool.

Ahh yes, LA Gear. Do you think that people in LA really wore them exclusivly? I'd like to think they did.

It's funny, but I went to the mall with my pal Bill a few days ago, and there were Huge White Hightops! New Balance makes them now, and they're DIRT CHEAP next to all the other garbage in Foot Locker.

And Hippie, I don't remember Kangaroos or whatever, but they sound great. I'd like to store odor eater balls in pouches on my shoes.

And lastly, for Rooster, here's a long distance internet hug. Not a gay, pussy hug. A MANLY hug.

::hug::

No, actually after looking at that typed out I guess it is kinda gay.
