THERES EVEN A DANCE TO IT
this am i woke up and i turn on the tv it was on mtv i see this video start
its three girls saying some muble jumble then they do a dance and they sa it over and over again
IT IS A SIGN
we all are going to die
this is what CD now says about it
If you haven't yet heard "The Ketchup Song" ("Asereje") -- the irresistible pop confection from Spanish teen popsters Las Ketchup -- you will. Soon. That's because the loping, infectious single, with its "Rapper's Delight"-meets-Carmen vocal hook, has already gone to number one in Europe and South America (knocking Eminem off the European combined chart), is quickly climbing the Stateside Latin charts, and already crossing over to the English-language market, too.
But before you dismiss the phenomenon as "La Macarena," part II, keep in mind that Las Ketchup is a sister group with a serious musical pedigree. Lola, Lucˇa, and Pilar Mu¤oz are all daughters of legendary flamenco guitarist Tomate, and the three grew up intimately familiar with Andalucian musical traditions in their hometown of C˘rdoba.
But don't read too much into their background. The trio's debut Hijas del tomate (Daughters of Tomato) may flirt with traditional bulerias and sevillanas -- especially in the vocal inflections on tracks such as "Sevillanas Pink" - but most the album is pure Iberian pop. Like teen pop worldwide, the music is bright and fun, and the girls spike their sound with some light rumba catalana sounds -- as well as the requisite rock and "hip-hop" styles. It's not exactly rocket science or Radiohead, but that doesn't detract from the fun.
