Anyone know how you go about getting into the audience at the induction ceremony? It should be one hell of a show.

Wow, this is the first "class" that isn't a joke. Wonder if The members of Police and The Clash will bite the bullet and make up with each other.

I'm very glad to see AC/DC go in. But will Bon Scott be inducted as well?

Thanks to Toddevf for sig pic
But will Bon Scott be inducted as well?
I assume so. His award will probably be accepted by a surving relative.
Black Sabbath and Deep Purple need to be inducted next year.

The Clash and AC/DC? NICE!
This is far and away the best "class" going in at one time, and I'm a fan of every one.

The Police to reunite -- for 3 songs
Friday, November 8, 2002
MILAN, Italy (Reuters) -- The British rock band the Police, led by Sting and whose hits included "Roxanne" and "Message in a Bottle," will get together for a one-show reunion in New York next year, ex-Police drummer Stewart Copeland said Friday.
"I am a dinosaur of rock," Copeland told a news conference in Milan where he was performing with his band Stewart Copeland's Orchestralli. "We're going to get together again after nearly 20 years."
Copeland, now 50, said Police had agreed to play three songs at a ceremony in New York in March to mark the band's induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with Australia's heavy-metal rockers AC/DC and fellow British groups Elvis Costello and the Attractions and The Clash.
Copeland said Police had also been invited to perform at a concert organized by former South African president Nelson Mandela but Sting had not yet said whether he would agree.

Alright! Good news for Clash fans, I just read this article on NME.com...sorry, don't have the link, so I'll just stick up the important bits.
MICK JONES and JOE STRUMMER have staged mini-CLASH reunion at a charity show in LONDON.
Strummer and the Mescaleros played a show for the Fire Brigades Union at London Acton Town Hall (November 15).
The Fire Brigade in the UK are currently locked in a bitter pay dispute, and are undertaking a series of strikes in an attempt to increase their wages.
At the show, Strummer, who also performs Clash songs during his set, was joined by Jones for an encore of the classic tracks 'Bankrobber', 'White Riot' and 'London's Burning'. NME.COM understands the pair haven't performed on the same stage since the mid-80s.
An eyewitness told NME.COM: "It was like being taken back to the '70s. There were speakers from the Fire Brigades Union, and the Clash songs sounded timeless."
The Clash are rumoured to be planning on reforming for a day, when they are inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in the US next March.

Clash Won't Play At Rock Hall Induction
The surviving members of the Clash won't perform at their Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony on Monday (March 10) in New York City. Bassist Paul Simonon told BBC radio, "We're not going to play or anything. We really haven't got anything planned." Simonon added that prior to his death in December, singer-guitarist Joe Strummer had talked about performing at the ceremony, but the bassist says he was against it, explaining that he would prefer the Clash reunite for a "real" audience of fans rather than the $2,500-a-plate "seated and booted" group in New York.
There were rumors that Simonon, singer-guitarist Mick Jones, and drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon would perform with Bono, who with his U2 bandmates is inducting the Clash. There were also whispers that they would play with Bruce Springsteen, but he and the E Street Band will be onstage that night in Providence, Rhode Island.
Springsteen, E Street Band guitarist Little Steven, Elvis Costello, Nirvana drummer/Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, and No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal played the Clash's "London Calling" at the Grammy Awards on February 23.
An edited version of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will air March 16 on VH1

Man, if the Grammy Awards were any kind of indication, the leftover Clash boys should get Costello up there with them...he tore "London Calling" up something beautiful.
And has anyone seen Mick Jones lately? That is how one manages to NOT age gracefully.

Late AC/DC Frontman Will Be At Rock Hall Induction--In Spirit
When AC/DC is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on Monday (March 10), the group will be without former lead singer Bon Scott. Scott, who died in 1980 after a drunken binge, is being inducted into the Hall posthumously, and guitarist Malcolm Young says the flamboyant frontman will certainly be in the house--in spirit, at least.
Young explains: "He's never left the band. That's just the way that we are, you know? We're very tight as a unit. He's always there, you know, as far as we're concerned. You just never forget, you know? There's so many stories, it creeps in every day--and if it's not one of the band, it's a fan, you know, so it's great for us. It just shows you how popular and how long back it remains so popular, you know? And the more time passes, the bigger that Bon gets, in a way."
In addition to the induction ceremony, which takes place at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City, AC/DC will play a free show in the city on Tuesday (March 11) at the Roseland Ballroom.
An edited version of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will air March 16 on VH1.
