As I sit in my room watching MANY different reruns of SNL of Comedy Central, the question came to mind. WHO was the best cast? Was it the original late 70's cast with Belushi and Chase? Was it that early 80's cast no one remembers with that bitch from Seinfeld? Is it the 90's cast? Could the current cast be the best you've ever seen/
In DEATH METAL MOE'S humble (chuckle chuckle) opinion, It HAS to be the 90's cast that included Sandler, Farley, Shnider, Meyers, Carvey, Hartman, Rock, Meadows, Spade, Nealon, McDonald, and a few others I forget right now. That cast made more funny skits that I can remember. I know Norm McDonald didn't star on SNL with all those people, but I had to list him cause he was THE ALLTIME BEST Weekend Update guy EVER!
So what do you, the RonFez.net people think??

The best were the early-mid 90's days of Farley and co. I also enjoyed seeing Eddie Murphy back then.

The late 80's, early 90's cast with Hartman, Myers, Farley, etc., was great. The only bad thing was Kevin Nealon doing the news.

Hartman, Rock, Murphy, Murray, MacDonald and Ferral. Anyone else can go to hell and keep making movies that just make me want to weep blood. Whoops, too late!

I think what ever years were on when you were in junior or senior high are your funniest. I think the 1st 2 casts were the best. they were original, and they had great skits. The later casts after Eddie Murphy did not do it for me.
I was never a big fan of SNL because I was never home on Saturday nights. It was not something that I would say "Gotta go SNL is on". Maybe if a great group would be on I would watch. But it was not that important to me.
Thank you Ron and Fez for finally being live in DC.

I don't have a favorite cast as much as I have favorite cast members.

Am I the only person who hates Norm McDonald and LOVED Kevin Nealon on the Weekend Update? [outside, crickets chirping; somewhere in the darkened theatre, a pin drops. The silence is deafening.]
I guess so. He, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase and occasionally Dennis Miller kicked ass in my book.
I also agree with AJ (?) that I don't so much have a favorite 'cast' as much as cast members - Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey, Eddie Murphy, Chris Farley, David Spade. . .I love those guys.
Of course, they were all trained in Improv by people like Del Close, so maybe that's what I laugh at. . .
"Verrry interesting."
"But stupid."
Wait. Sorry, that was Laugh-In.

I have watched about what seems to be 10,000 SNL reruns on Comedy Central in my three years at school, and I feel that the cast that Moe mentioned above is hands down the best cast in SNL history.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

Wow, there IS something Moe actually likes.
It HAS to be the 90's cast that included Sandler, Farley, Shnider, Meyers, Carvey, Hartman, Rock, Meadows, Spade, Nealon, McDonald, and a few others I forget right now.
There was a cast of all those people (except Norm) and included Dennis Miller. For a short period of time, we got to see the 2 greatest all-time casts meet.
