I confess. I had a velvet Elvis. I bought it at a flea market for 10 bucks.
I also had a 3-D picture of Jesus, making the peace sign and having his eyes move.

We had pictures of dogs playing poker in my house when I was growing up.

The bulldog was a little cheat-- he kept a card tucked between his toes.

The closest I came to a velvet Elvis was a memorial posterboard of 1973-era Elvis. He was onstage performing with his black acoustic guitar with the "TCB in a flash" logo. At the bottom it said 1935-1977.

A buddy of mine still has the velvet Elvis he found the basement of a house he lived for a semester.

Yes, I had a velvet Elvis. A friend of mine bought it as a Christmas present for his brother-in-law, but his wife wouldn't let him give it to him.

I gladly took it, and proudly hung it in my basement.

I gave it away a few years ago to a friend of mine who moved to Florida and always loved it.

Never owned a velvet Elvis...but as a guinea, my family did have a velvet Matador picture in the basement right next to the pool table.

...silent, but violent.

No Elvis, but we had on of those big eyed puppy dogs with the tear in his eye on black velvet and my grandmother had a black panther scupture on top of her tv when I was a kid.

No, I want one BADLY! Either an Elvis or one of the hot P-Funk looking ladies with the big afro. Anyone know where I can get one?

hot P-Funk looking ladies with the big afro

fluffer,

you just reminded me of a head-shop that seemed to be owned by afro/americans on Newark Ave in downtown Jersey City... It was called The Magic Id...
they had all the posters with afro/american woman with bare breasts and the large afro, some next to tigers and panthers, thought they were associated with the zodiac signs...then they had all the incense(even had one that was "pussy" scented) and carburetors...leopard skin, strawberry, banana flavored rolling papers...
man! were them posters a turn-on when i was a teenager...

Thanks Again :)

Yes, my college roommate and I bought one for $6.50 in lovely, beucolic downtown Ithaca, NY. We were looking for the tackiest thing we could find to hang in our dorm room. Good thing we spotted "Velvis", as we affectionately knew him as, before the velvet Bruce Lee.

Never an Elvis, but my brother had one of those cheap crushed velvet posters you win at the boardwalk. It was hot pink and black and had a panther on it. He hung it right next to the Budweiser girls and his Jack Daniels mirror :) <P>
