G4TV = Sell Outs?

I used to watch this station and more and more I kept getting a bad taste in my mouth. I own both a PS2 and GameCube, and love em. I know they're sponsored by EA Sports and Electronics Boutique, but they seem to have shows dedicated to them. Honestly, who cares who's selling best at EB Games? Do they dominate the sales market? Why do we need show after show touting how great Madden is? I love Madden, but the Sega games are far more innovative. Also on their "news" show, they're always weeks behind on the news, and seem to constantly put down Nintendo. I believe in fair play in journalism, and these guys are just practicing in 21st century Payola. Anyone agree, disagree, or not care at all?

I watch this at my buds house sometimes and it's always old shows or computer games. That sucks.

It used to be better from what I remember.

They may be sellouts but I like it because the games I own and play are EA sports games, except Halo and Tony Hawk.

The training camp in Madden 03 is cool.

I wonder what kind of gamer demographic they have.
You wouldn't think it would be sports gamers. They're probably too busy watching ESPN.

What kind of games would you like to see more about?

A variety. Kingdom Hearts was mentioned a little, but not much. I have nothing against the X BOX, but they seem to worship at the feet of them. It makes me wonder if MS may be greasing their pockets a bit. I guess their demographic must be the adult sports/PC gamer, because they focus a lot more on those issues. I don't know, I can't really put my finger on it, I just get an ill feeling sometimes when I watch it. Except for that stupid show Portal, I don't know why, but that retarded show makes me laugh my ass off.

Yeah, i saw Portal once. It was strangely hypnotizing. They were doing some "jaywalking" rip off, ya know that one from the tonight show. Anyway they were showing pictures of some characters in some game (Anarchy online?) and asking people what they were and how many hit points they had. And a bunch of other jazz that i don't understand about those kind of games.
When people didn't know he was mocking them. I couldn't tell if he was seriously mocking them or being sarcastic.
Still interesting though, in a creepy sort of way.
