It sounds exactly as you'd expect the lead singer of Soundgarden and the band from Rage Against The Machine to sound. Not good, not bad, just very boring, and wholly unecessary.

Rage was great but honestly They hit their prime with battle of LA. They and Soundgarden each broke up at the right time. I can't wait for Auidoslave.

I've only heard the first single "Cochise" so far, but I do like it a lot. I can't wait to hear the album.

I am just really mixed on the record but some of the songs are growing on me. I downloaded a bunch and burned them in order on a CD. Anyway, Cochise rocks! Gasoline has some of the best Chris Cornell screams in it I have ever heard. And I can't remember the other titles of some of the songs but they do rocl and have a really good groove to them. i just can't shake the fact that it sound alot like the Rage guys are still playing Rage but Cornell IS singing like it is a NEW project. Tom Morello's guitar also sounds way too clean for how grainy Cornells vocals come across. I also think in the song Gasoline there is a distinct part where you swear Morello is playing the opening riff of Rusty Cage. This is nowhere near the peaks of either band but a fun listen and as I said, growing on me. I will probably get it, especially if they press it on vinyl.

No harm in listening to both. Its not like the Korn-metal bands. With those you can honestly say that if you've heard one song you've heard them all.

My exact thoughts. The sum is not greater nor less than the 2 parts. In this case, 2+2=4.

Now after getting the CD today, here is my two cents on the whole thing.

From the opening of Cochise to the final track, The Last Remaining Light, there were many times in this record that tok me back to Louder Than Love era Soundgarden and many of the heavier Rage songs. It gets a little bit too muich Rage in some spots as I think maybe they could have broken that mold a bit. That is the overall feel that I got from this. The "Rage" input here has the same Rage feel and sound but heavier and a tad bit of blues thrown in on a few tracks. There is a bunch of groove here and definitely kept my attention. Getaway Car could have easily fit into the Temple of the Dog album. I am not too hapy with the next two single choices here with What You Are and I Am The Highway because the casual radio listener will not get the full effect of the record. Gasoline is by far the best track on here as I have not heard Chris Cornell scream like this in a long long time. There is also a very reminiscent "Rusty Cage" sounding guitar bit in the middle. This is a really really good record but I can't help but feel a little mopey during some of the songs. It is not sappy in any way but it just kind of drags me down to the dirt which is good. The rain today fit the listening of the album perfectly. I am definitely gonna be listening to this often as there is a lot going on.

Well so far i've been able to download Gasoline and Shadow of the sun, and I'm diggin it.

I loved SoundGarden AND Rage, so this is like a peanutbutter cup, the best of both worlds.

You got Sound Garden in my Rage. Well you got Rage in my Sound Garden.

It sounds like rage and soundgarden and that's not a bad thing, thats a good thing.
